Here’s an overview of your Ram 1500’s scheduled maintenance service visits:
When your Ram 1500 reaches the 8,000-mile mark, it’s time to take it in for its first scheduled maintenance visit. The service technicians will change the truck’s oil and oil filter. Changing the oil is perhaps the most important maintenance service. It keeps your truck’s engine running efficiently and protects it from wear. During an oil change, the technicians flush out old, dirty oil from the engine and replace it with fresh, clean oil. They’ll also rotate the tires and check your vehicle’s fluid levels. The services of the 8,000-mile visit are repeated during each service visit.
In addition to the services of the 8,000-mile visit, the service technicians will inspect your truck’s brakes, tie rods and front suspension. They’ll adjust or replace parts as necessary.
At 30,000 miles, it will be time to replace the engine air filter and the cabin air filter. The service technicians will also inspect the axles, transfer case, U-joints and CV joints.
At 60,000 miles, the service technicians will inspect the vehicle’s filters, engine coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid and replace them as needed.
At the 10,000-mile mark, many of the above services will be performed. In addition, the service technicians will check and replace the spark plugs, wires and PVC joints.
When your Ram 1500’s odometer reaches 120,000 miles, the service technicians will perform the services of the 60,000-mile service visit. If you use your truck for towing and hauling, they’ll inspect the transfer case and change the fluid.
The 150,000-mile visit includes a replacement of the cabin air filter and the engine air filter. The service technicians will also flush and replace the engine coolant.
