The Ram 1500 has long been one of the country’s most popular pickups. This full-size truck is a top seller at dealerships like the Pacific Grove Ram dealer, thanks to its potent powerplants, smooth ride, class-leading interior styling, and easy-to-use infotainment system.
Purchasing a 2021 Ram 1500 is a significant investment, so you’ll want to keep it running in top condition for as long as you own it. According to the Ram Dealer of Pacific Grove, the best way to do this is to follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule. Keeping your truck properly maintained can prevent a small problem from snowballing into a major issue later on.
You’ll find the maintenance schedule listed in your owner’s manual. If you can’t locate the manual and aren’t sure when to bring your Ram 1500 for maintenance, call the experts at the Morgan Hill CDJR Service Center. We’re happy to help. We’ll set up an appointment for maintenance service if needed.
Here’s a quick rundown of your truck’s scheduled maintenance service visit milestones:
At 8,000 miles, it will be time for your 2021 Ram 1500’s first service visit, which includes an oil change. This important service keeps your engine running optimally by flushing out old, dirty engine oil and replacing it with fresh oil. The service technicians will also replace the oil filter. In addition, they’ll check your truck's fluids and rotate the tires. These basic services will be repeated during every service visit.
At 20,000 miles, the service technicians will check the brakes, front suspension and tie rods. They’ll adjust and replace parts as needed.
When the odometer reaches 30,000 miles, the service technicians will replace the cabin air filter and engine air filter. It will be time to inspect the CV and U-joints, the transfer case and the axles.
At 60,000 miles, the filters, transmission fluid, brake fluid and engine coolant will be inspected and replaced if necessary.
When your 2021 Ram 1500 checks in at 100,000 miles, it will be time to inspect and replace the PVC joints and the spark plugs and wires. The service technicians will also repeat many of the above services.
At 120,000 miles, the services of the 60,000-mile service will be repeated. Trucks used for towing and hauling will get an inspection of the transfer case. The fluid will also be changed.
When the odometer reads 150,000 miles, it will be time to replace the engine air filter and the cabin air filter. The engine coolant will be flushed and replaced.
