When you think of a family sedan, you probably imagine something sedate. The 2021 Dodge Charger is anything but boring. While the Charger is a great daily driver, ready to perform all the duties you’d expect from a vehicle in its class, this vehicle is ready for action. Dodge Charger Trim Levels
The 2021 Charger is available in six trim levels at dealerships like the Dodge dealer in Gilroy, listed as SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye. No matter which model you choose, you’ll get an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive.
Dodge Charger SXT
The SXT is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. With all-wheel drive, this engine makes 300 hp and 264 lb-ft. The SXT and GT models get optional all-wheel drive. Standard features include cloth upholstery, 17-inch wheels, power-adjustable front seats, remote start, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking sensors and cruise control. The infotainment system comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio and two USB ports.
Dodge Charger GT
The GT is powered by the same V6 as the SXT. With rear-wheel drive, the engine is good for 300 hp and 264 lb-ft. The GT gets a sportier appearance and adds 20-inch wheels, a sport suspension, heated outside mirrors, LED fog lights, a hood scoop, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and an upgraded stereo system.
Dodge Charger R/T
The R/T trim is equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 that develops 370 hp and 395 lb-ft. This trim gets the same appearance and features as the GT trim, plus exclusive 20-inch wheels and an active exhaust.
Dodge Charger Scat Pack
Powering the Scat Pack is a 6.4-liter V8 that makes 485 hp and 475 lb-ft. It gets unique 20-inch wheels, an upgraded cooling system, a high-performance suspension, high-performance Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, launch control, performance drive modes, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
The SRT Hellcat is motivated by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s good for 717 hp and 650 lb-ft. It adds exclusive 20-inch wheels, high-performance tires, an adaptive suspension, widebody fenders, ultra-high-performance brakes, a leather-trimmed cabin, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, driver-seat memory settings, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye
The SRT Hellcat Redeye gets a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that churns out an astounding 797 hp and 707 lb-ft. The features are identical to those in the SRT Hellcat.
Whichever trim level you choose, you can be confident it will be safe. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2021 Dodge Charger its top rating of five stars for overall safety.
